First of all, bravo to Christopher Nolan on making such a great movie. I am personally a big fan of his movies over the time and he did it again. A movie that can swoop his fingers up your nose and swirl your brains. But this time he left a big bunch of loopholes in his movie :
1) Murphy: “Dad, go for Dr. Brand” (at the end) :
At the end when Cooper was rescued by the cooper station, he went to see his dying daughter and she says “Dad, No parent should see their children die. You have to go for Dr. Brand(Anne Hathaway). Dear Murphy, you guys stopped receiving any signals or data from the space crew years ago, how could you possible know that Dr. Brand was stranded on a planet still waiting to be rescued ?
2) Murphy knew the ghost was her father :
When Murphy came back after 23 years, there was no fresh signal from the ghost (as she assumes it) in her room. She just looks at the signals she got 23 years ago and there was no possible sign that could relate that those signals were sent by her father. Getting the data into the watch 0f her father could not conclude the same as it was placed in the same room where other signals were received. She could have easily inferred that the signals were from Aliens instead of jumping to conclusion that they were from her dad.
3) Crop of corn survived :
When Murphy was 10 years old and Cooper goes into NASA following the coordinates, they tell him the crop of Okra died this year and corn will die NEXT YEAR. Cooper sees the plant with a teary eye. But after 23 years when Murphy comes back to her home, her family was having a feast of guess what CORN ! Seems like the crop of corn which was going to die in 1 year survived another 23 years….:)
4) Future Human beings made worm hole in space to rescue human civilization from extinction:
According to the movie, future people made worm hole in space to rescue human civilization from extinction, but dude, they made the worm hole in future means they survived and they survived pretty well as to be so technically advanced that they created a worm hole in space. If they already survived in future pretty well, why would they create something for human survival in the past. Hello, you are here, you made it ! Stop pulling your brains out for human survival in the past.
5) Cooper went into blackhole and returned in Single piece:
According to the actual scientific data, a black hole’s gravity is so enormous that it crushes every object to atoms when it reaches near the black hole but our Cooper seems to be tougher that any other material in the universe who goes into black hole and comes back in a single piece from a thing which gets its name from the fact that even light cannot escape it !
6) Gravity can cross the dimensions :
This doesn’t seem plausible. Just think about it, gravity is a force between two objects that depends on their mass and the distance between them. How in this universe can one object exert a force on another object which is placed in some other time. And if it was possible, then why didn’t the pull of black hole affected those books on shelf which Cooper moved so easily making the morse code ?
7) Theory of relativity cried a little bit watching this movie:
It is true that time dilation occurs when you move with speed comparable to time, but to convert 1 hour in 7 years, they must travel with speed of at least more than 70% of speed of light. First of all, how did they found the technology to attain such a speed, and how did bodies of people survived on such velocities ? If they used the spin gravity of Black hole to attain that speed then no thruster could be made that could exert such force on spaceship to break it from blackhole orbit and slingshot it to the orbiting planets. Force required by thrusters should be gigantic to do that !
Making such a complicated movie would obviously leave some loopholes, but still a great effort and a fabulous movie to watch ! Comment if you think I got anything wrong in the above article. There can also be a loophole in this article of finding loopholes which would make it an Inception !
