Sometimes there are weird and even scary things in front of us that we don’t notice but when someone tells us about it we get amazed. This is exactly such a thing that most of us wouldn’t have noticed. Some animals like goat, sheep, toads and octopus have rectangular pupil in their eyes instead of circular ones like in us and most of the animals.
There’s a reason for this amazing change over the period of evolution. Rectangular pupils are generally in the eyes of animals which are prey so that they can get a larger view to see and run from predators.
Some animals also have slit pupils which are either vertical or horizontally places in their eyes. Vertical pupil animals are cats, foxes, crocodiles and vipers. Horizontal slit animals are red deer, elf, hippopotamus and mongooses. Reason for this oddly shaped slit pupils lies in the evolution of animals which tends to protect their eyes in daylight as they mostly function in night time and their eyes are made especially for working in low light.
